Leather Factory Helps Boy Scouts of America Write New Leatherwork Merit Badge Pamphlet |
FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 16, 2003--The Leather Factory, Inc. (AMEX:TLF) today announced completion of its joint effort with the Boy Scouts of America ("BSA") to produce the new Leatherwork merit badge pamphlet for the BSA.
Wray Thompson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Leather Factory, Inc. commented, "Since 1910, the Boy Scouts of America has been molding boys and young adults into solid citizens. We have always welcomed the opportunity to assist Scouting in any way we can, and we are delighted that our joint efforts have produced this guide for young leathercrafters. Tony Laier, our director of R&D, spent numerous hours rewriting the text and creating new illustrations for the 90-page pamphlet. We have always believed that leatherworking is a hobby and a skill that people young and old can enjoy, and we are delighted that new Scouts will continue to learn the joys of leatherworking."
Mr. Thompson also thanked the BSA for its kind words in the pamphlet about the role of The Leather Factory, Tandy Leather Company and several members of the company's executive management team and product developers in this effort.
